On October 8, 2025, Greenville Police Department’s VCAT Team located Mayo and took him into custody.
We are grateful to our partners at the Greenville Police Department for their assistance and teamwork in bringing this case to a safe resolution.
Our thoughts remain with the victim as she continues to heal from this traumatic experience.

On September 30, 2025, officers with KPD’s D-Squad responded to a domestic incident involving 20-year-old Javante Mayo of Greenville. Wanted on charges of:
-1st Degree Kidnapping
-Assault by Pointing a Gun
-Crime of Domestic Violence Dun Dun
On September 30, 2025, officers with KPD’s D-Squad responded to a domestic incident involving 20-year-old Javante Mayo of Greenville.
During the investigation, officers determined that Mayo had kidnapped a 22-year-old female and assaulted her by pointing a firearm at her. Mayo fled the scene before officers arrived, but officers were able to recover a possible firearm used in the incident from a nearby wooded area.
Officers have obtained warrants for Javante Mayo on the following charges:
-1st Degree Kidnapping
-Assault by Pointing a Gun
-Crime of Domestic Violence
We are grateful the victim was able to reach safety, and our thoughts remain with her as she begins to heal from this traumatic experience. Incidents of domestic violence impact not only the individuals directly involved, but also families and our wider community.
