Canine Operations

The objective of the Police Canine (K-9) Team is to provide the department with additional specialized units to increase its effectiveness in the detection and prevention of crime as well as the apprehension of criminals.

Lenoir County Animal Control has taken over Animal Control concerns for the City of Kinston. If you need assistance with Animal Control, please call 252-526-4200 (option #2). For an emergency involving an animal, call 911.

School Resource Officers

Violent Crime Action Team

The Kinston Police Department Narcotics Investigators are tasked to investigate and eradicate the sale and use of illegal narcotics from the streets and neighborhoods within Kinston or whose illegal activities adversely affect the citizens of Kinston.

S.W.A.T.

The Kinston Police Department SWAT team consists of specially qualified police officers who are selected, trained, equipped and deployed in high risk law enforcement situations.
