The North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation Network (NCLEAN) is dedicated to improving and maintaining professional law enforcement services in the State of North Carolina.

The North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation Network is a non-profit organization that represents the accreditation interests for North Carolina law enforcement agencies, communication agencies, and training academies. We focus on providing a collaborative resource for North Carolina agencies involved in accreditation through the NC Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (NCLEA) and the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA)

NCLEAN was formed in 1989 through the combined efforts of several law enforcement agencies in North Carolina that were nationally accredited or in the process of becoming accredited through CALEA. These departments met and agreed upon the need for a state network to assist each other in the accreditation process.

NCLEAN recognizes and supports the concept of accreditation for law enforcement agencies as a means to enhance the quality of law enforcement services.
